In recent years, the usage of LED streetlights has significantly decreased compared to previous years. It can be seen from past municipal procurement that previously hundreds or even thousands of sets were purchased at once. However, the current procurement volume has decreased considerably. This is mainly due to market saturation and the reduction of national subsidies, along with the negative effects associated with LED streetlights. The presence of LED streetlights has almost disappeared in recent years, with very few bulk purchases being made.
Many areas are even replacing the previously installed LED streetlights with LED solar streetlights.
Why is this happening? Mainly because some regions have low brightness from their fixtures, and a portion have malfunctioned in bulk. Therefore, I can responsibly inform everyone that this batch of LED streetlights is of subpar quality. This leads to too high a color temperature of the LED bulbs. When the color temperature is too high, the fixtures become glaring, and the color rendering index drops. This is a chain reaction that has resulted in the expensive installation of LED streetlights being less favorable than LED solar streetlights.
In the past few years, rapid development has also led to a surge of low-priced LED streetlights entering the market, which everyone should be familiar with. However, the government has decided it is unnecessary to continue supporting this, which has led to a significant reduction in subsidies. Furthermore, large enterprises are now adopting energy-saving models, replacing bulbs for free to gain electricity revenue. All of these measures mean that only large companies producing reliable products will be able to participate in major bidding projects for LED streetlights. This is why the quantity of LED streetlights has declined.
