The official process for installing a grid-connected household photovoltaic power generation system is as follows: Residents must submit a grid connection application along with their ID and property ownership certificate to the local power supply office. After the application is accepted, the local power company will inspect the installation site and, based on national, industry, and local technical standards and project conditions, will develop a connection scheme for the customer at no charge, providing a written response. Only then can the user proceed to install the rooftop photovoltaic power station. Conversely, if a household solar power station is installed first without seeking approval from the power company and the installation location does not meet the connection requirements, the government subsidy will not be granted.

Compared to large centralized power stations, household photovoltaic systems are much simpler in structure and mainly consist of photovoltaic solar panels, inverters, controllers, brackets, AC/DC cables, and batteries. However, if the user does not complete the grid connection procedures and chooses to use 100% of the generated electricity for self-consumption, and they install an off-grid photovoltaic solar power station, the government will not grant any subsidies.
