The height of the solar streetlight is generally preferred to be 7 meters in scenic areas and parks, especially on new rural construction roads that are approximately 7 meters wide. During nighttime, the pedestrian and traffic flow on rural roads is not heavy, and a unidirectional interaction lighting method is usually adopted to ensure an installation distance of about 20×25 meters. If the distance is less than 20 meters, it will affect part of the lighting. Additionally, more streetlights should be installed at street corners to avoid any dead spots in lighting.
If the height of the streetlight is 8 meters, it must be ensured that the distance between the streetlights is 25 to 30 meters, and this distance should be installed based on the cross lighting distribution from both sides. This method is mainly used when the road lighting width is 10×15 meters.
The installation distance between solar streetlights and 12-meter lamp posts should be relevant. Generally, a vertical distance of 30m/50m is recommended for solar streetlights, with a symmetrical distribution on both sides, and the road lighting width should exceed 15 meters. If the required illuminance value can be achieved according to the specifications without rigid requirements, a 60-watt segmented solar streetlight is a great choice. If you need to choose a 30-watt integrated solar streetlight, its distance can reach up to 30 meters.
2. Light Distribution Methods
Light distribution methods include: unidirectional light distribution, two-sided cross light distribution, and two-sided symmetrical light distribution, such as at intersections and bends. Adjustments can be made based on actual conditions.
If the installation distance of solar streetlights is too close and unreasonable, it may lead to resource waste and relatively high investment costs. Following the installation requirements mentioned above can greatly ensure road lighting needs without causing resource waste.
