Solar Street Lights
are devices that can be seen everywhere in real life, but many people may not know what components make up a solar street light.
1. The solar panel is an essential component. When choosing this part, you will find that solar street lights can be divided into monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon. The conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon is relatively high, while that of polycrystalline silicon is much lower. However, when discussing power, a 100-watt monocrystalline solar panel is conceptually equivalent to a 100-watt polycrystalline panel, although the polycrystalline panel may be larger in size.
2. The solar street light also includes an energy storage battery. There are many different types of batteries available, such as maintenance-free lead-acid gel batteries or lithium batteries. If using lead-acid batteries, their lifespan is generally limited compared to lithium batteries, which have a higher cycle life. Lead-acid batteries may also have a certain degree of memory effect, which prevents them from achieving 100% discharge depth. Typically, they may only reach about 75% discharge, making them less recommended for current use. On the other hand, lithium batteries tend to be more expensive, but they offer a wider range of applications.
3. The controller of the solar street light is also a crucial component. The quality of the controller can vary based on the manufacturer, so when selecting actual controllers, it is important to consider the existing assembly options.
