In the new era of development, advancements in technology have led to the continuous research and development of various new energy sources. Solar energy has become a very popular type of renewable energy, as the energy from the sun is inexhaustible and abundant. This clean, pollution-free environmental energy can indeed bring great benefits to our lives. There are many applications of solar energy, one of which is the use of solar street lights. However, it is unavoidable that some faults may occur during the use of solar street lights. So, what are the repair methods for faults encountered in solar street lights? Let’s take a look together.
Repair methods for solar energy faults:
1. Solar Street Light Controller
The red light on the controller indicates that charging is in progress, and a flashing red light indicates that the battery is full and the controller is charging with a small current pulse. The yellow light on the controller indicates that the battery is disconnected and cannot light normally. If the battery is disconnected and reconnected, the light will turn back on. At this point, the controller detects an increase in battery capacity after charging for a day, rather than an increase in the battery’s float voltage.
2. Battery Detection
3. Light Emitting Diode (LED) Source Detection
Under normal battery voltage conditions, the light source can operate properly. For instance, if the solar LED street light does not turn on, the positive and negative electrodes of the light source can be directly connected to the positive and negative electrodes of the battery for testing. If the light source illuminates, it indicates that the light source is functioning well, and the controller is not supplying power to the light. Therefore, we must wait until the battery is fully charged again. Only when the voltage increases can it work normally. If the light is directly connected to the battery and does not light up, it indicates that there is an issue with the light source, and the manufacturer needs to be contacted for a replacement.
4. Solar Street Light Solar Panel Detection
If the solar panel is not securely connected, the solar LED street light cannot charge properly, usually characterized by having voltage but no current. This phenomenon is due to improper wire connections in the solar panel. After opening the black electrical cover on the back of the solar panel, voltage and current readings can be directly measured. If no current is detected on the aluminum foil of the solar panel, it indicates that there is a problem with the panel and it needs to be replaced.
The above are the repair methods for faults encountered in solar energy. Solar street lights do not emit any elements that may cause pollution to the environment during the entire conversion process. Moreover, there are no radiation issues, and these products fully align with the current concept of green and environmental protection.
