In many aspects of life, we advocate for green and environmentally friendly practices, and outdoor lighting is no exception. Therefore, considering these factors when selecting outdoor lighting, solar street lights are more suitable. Solar street lights use solar energy as a power source. Unlike streetlights powered by mains electricity, which lose some energy through cables, solar street lights save more energy. Moreover, they typically use LED light sources, which do not emit carbon dioxide or other harmful substances into the air during operation, thus better protecting the environment. However, users need to install solar street lights after purchase before usage. So what are the installation considerations for solar street light panels? Below is an introduction from Century Sunshine Lighting.
Considerations for installing solar street light panels:
1. Do not install the solar panels in shaded areas under trees, buildings, etc. They should not be close to open flames or flammable materials. The supporting frame for the panels must meet environmental requirements and be made from reliable materials with necessary anti-corrosion treatment. Components should be installed using secure methods, as falling from heights can cause damage or pose safety risks. Components should not be disassembled, bent, or struck by hard objects, and should not be stepped on.
2. Securely lock the panel components to the frame using spring washers and flat washers. Ground the panel components appropriately based on the site environment and the structure of the support frame.
3. The panel assembly has a pair of waterproof connectors. When connecting in series, the positive terminal of one module must connect to the negative terminal of the next module. Ensure that the output circuit is correctly connected to the device. Do not short-circuit the positive and negative terminals. Ensure that there are no gaps between the connectors and the insulated joints, as gaps can lead to sparks or electric shocks.
4. Regularly check the lifting structure for looseness; retighten parts if necessary. Inspect the connections of wires, grounding, and plugs.
5. Frequently wipe the surface of the components with a soft cloth. If it is necessary to replace the components (which usually does not occur within 20 years), choose components of the same type and model. Do not touch the cables or moving parts of the connectors with bare hands; if necessary, use appropriate safety equipment, such as insulated tools or gloves.
6. When maintaining components, cover the front surface of the modules with an opaque object or material, as the components generate high voltage under sunlight, which can be dangerous.
The above considerations for installing solar street light panels are shared here. I hope this article is helpful. If you have any other questions regarding solar street lights, please feel free to follow Century Sunshine or leave a message. We look forward to discussing with you!
