“Is it safe? Could it cause burns?” This question has always attracted attention. Today, lamp manufacturers will take everyone into the world of embedded lights to learn more about them.
Currently, the embedded lights available include cold light LED embedded lights and halogen lights. Cold light LED embedded lights operate at low temperatures and will not cause burns upon contact, while halogen lights increase in surface temperature over time. There have been reports of temperature tests conducted at various locations, revealing that LED embedded lights generally maintain a low temperature. They feel warm to the touch but do not cause burns, whereas halogen lights typically exceed 120°C, posing a risk of burns.
A reporter selected locations such as the Global Plaza on Wusi Road in Fuzhou and Wangfujing department store to conduct temperature tests on embedded lights. The tests found that halogen embedded lights often exceeded 100°C, yet there were rarely any warnings or protective measures in place, creating safety hazards. At the entrance of the Global Plaza, the embedded lights have a diameter of about 30 centimeters and protrude a few centimeters above the ground, with no protective measures or warnings. Passersby could easily touch them. Around 7 PM, despite the short duration the embedded lights had been on, temperatures reached about 138°C, approaching that of the embedded light’s glass, resulting in a burning sensation. Similarly, the spotlight located within Hot Spring Park is also within reach, and tests showed temperatures of 146.8°C.
However, the embedded lights located at the entrance of Wangfujing department store, being LED embedded lights, are much safer. The area in front of the department store is a children’s play zone, frequented by many kids. The embedded lights in the square are flush with the ground, with a diameter of about 15 centimeters, and the LED embedded light does not appear dazzling. Temperature measurements revealed about 36.6°C, feeling merely warm to the touch. During the reporter’s tests, curious children even reached out to touch them.
LED embedded lights are small in size, consume low power, have a long lifespan, are durable, easy to install, feature a stylish and elegant design, and are protected against electric leakage, water, and burns.
