How to check
solar street light batteries?
1. Check if the surface of the battery is clean and if there are any signs of corrosion or leakage. If the exterior is dirty, you can clean it with a damp cloth and some laundry detergent.
2. Inspect the battery for any dents or bulges.
3. At least once every six months, ensure that the screws connecting the battery cells are tightened to prevent loosening, which could cause poor contact and lead to other failures. When maintaining or replacing batteries, use insulated tools (such as wrenches) to prevent short circuits.
4. Recharge the battery promptly after discharge. If there are consecutive days of rain that prevent charging, stop or reduce the power supply time to avoid over-discharging the battery. Maintenance personnel should periodically perform balanced charging of the batteries, generally 2-3 times each quarter. For batteries that are unused for an extended period (more than 3 months), they should be fully recharged before being put back into operation.
5. Ensure proper insulation of the battery room in winter and adequate ventilation in summer. The temperature in the battery room should be kept between 5℃ and 25℃.
6. Keep the solar panel array clean. In areas with little rain and high winds, wash the panels once a month. Begin by rinsing with clean water, then dry with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid using corrosive solvents or abrasive materials. Wash during times without sunlight or during early morning or evening. Avoid washing heated photovoltaic components with cold water, as very cold water can cause the glass cover to crack.
7. Regularly check the connections between photovoltaic modules to ensure they are secure, and ensure the wiring in the junction box is also secure as needed. Inspect the photovoltaic modules for damages or anomalies like cracks, missing grid lines, or hotspots. Check that the bypass diodes inside the junction box are functioning normally. If any issues arise with the photovoltaic components, replace them promptly and record their specific installation location within the array.
