Due to the harsh environmental conditions that LED street lights endure, such as wind, rain, sunlight, temperature fluctuations, and airborne dust, they often undergo significant natural aging. Currently, the LED industry is rapidly developing and facing intense competition. If investors recognize the trends for future growth, this competition can be quite stimulating. Therefore, it is essential to consider the following factors during the design and installation process.
Selection of LED Lamp Materials and Heat Dissipation Methods
The design of the housing and heat sink as an integrated unit is primarily aimed at addressing the heat generation of LED street lights. This approach is well thought out; typically, aluminum or aluminum alloys, copper or copper alloys, and other good thermal conductive materials are used, which significantly aids in heat dissipation. Heat can be dissipated through air convection, strong wind cooling, and heat pipes. The choice of heat dissipation method must be carefully considered, as it directly impacts the cost of the fixtures and aligns with product design considerations.
The choice of materials for the lamp cover is also very important. Currently, many LED street light manufacturers primarily use transparent organic glass and PC materials, while traditional lamp covers are made from transparent glass products. The choice of lamp cover material is related to the positioning and quality of the product. Generally speaking, outdoor fixtures use traditional glass lamp covers to extend their lifespan. Conversely, covers made from transparent plastics and organic glass are better suited for indoor fixtures; if used outdoors, their lifespan is significantly reduced due to factors such as sunlight, ultraviolet rays, dust, chemical gases, and temperature fluctuations. Additionally, these covers are harder to clean, reducing transparency and impacting light output.
LED Chip Packaging
Currently, domestically produced LED fixtures, particularly street lights, mostly use multiple 1W LEDs connected in series and parallel for assembly. This method is associated with higher thermal resistance compared to more advanced packaging technologies. Alternatively, larger modules of 30W, 50W, or even higher power are used to achieve the required wattage. The packaging materials for these LEDs may include epoxy resin and silicone. E-commerce channels eliminate many expenses associated with offline marketing, warehousing, and staffing, while also enabling manufacturers to explore more innovative ideas in e-commerce expansion.
