Nowadays, lighting not only plays a critical role in our daily lives but also serves an important function in urban construction. This is why high mast lights have seen considerable application. However, proper maintenance is essential for these lighting fixtures. What steps should be taken before performing maintenance?
First, prepare the necessary materials. Understand the blueprints, establish clear requirements, and gather the needed materials and items. The manufacturer of the high mast lights should ensure that the mechanical components are in good condition, such as verifying whether the connection bolts are secure and whether the bearings are lubricated. Any worn-out parts must be replaced promptly.
Second, confirm that the system is stable and reliable. It is crucial to verify the grounding system of the motor to ensure it is trustworthy, eliminating rust to prevent severe corrosion. Inspect the worm gear reducer, safety connections, and clutch. Remove oil stains and add gear oil. Check for wear on the worm and worm gear. If the gear pattern is finer or shows groove markings, it should be replaced. Loose or adjustable safety couplings are also unacceptable.
Third, conduct additional inspections. Carefully check the locking nuts on the wire rope to see if they are damaged (such as broken heads or loose sleeves). The wire rope itself may exhibit characteristics like biased pressure, slack strands, wire breakage, minor injuries, sagging, corrosion, and noticeable wear, which are also unacceptable. Special attention should be given to the wire rope separators and the securing devices for the wire rope. To prevent rust on the wire rope and reduce wear between the wire rope, drum, and pulley, a rust-free oil can be applied with a stiff brush.
In summary, before conducting maintenance on high mast lights, it is necessary to perform these preparatory tasks. Only by doing so can the performance of the lighting fixtures be ensured and their lifespan extended.
