LED courtyard lights are a type of outdoor lighting, typically referring to outdoor road lighting fixtures that range from 3 to 4 meters in height. The main components include: light source, fixture, lamp post, flange plate, and foundation embedded parts. LED courtyard lights feature diversity, aesthetics, and the ability to beautify and decorate environments, which is why they are also known as
landscape courtyard lights
. They are mainly applied in residential areas, tourist attractions, parks, and other public outdoor lighting spaces. During the day, courtyard lights can enhance the urban scenery; at night, they provide necessary lighting and convenience for daily life while highlighting the city’s charm and showcasing a beautiful style.
Next, let us understand how courtyard lights are installed, which involves several steps:
1. Laying of electrical conduits and steel pipes:
The design should select electrical conduits and steel pipes for concealed installation, and construction should adhere to the technical standards for laying electrical conduits and steel pipes. The embedded pipes must closely coordinate with the civil construction, first accommodating the layout of water pipes before arranging the electrical conduits. The outdoor distribution line should be laid underground using cables through HDPE pipes, with a burial depth of 0.7m. When crossing waterways, the burial depth should not be less than 0.5m, and when crossing vehicular roads, steel pipes should be used.
2. Installing the fixtures:
1. The fixtures and light sources should comply with design requirements, and all fixtures must have product certification. The internal wiring of the lights must not be exposed, and all fixtures must be complete.
2. Inspect the fixtures to ensure they meet requirements based on the installation location. Check the internal wiring, making sure the fixtures are secure, correctly positioned, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing, with accurate connections.
3. Upon completion of installation, test the insulation resistance of each branch circuit. Power should only be turned on after confirming compliance. Once powered, carefully check the functionality of the fixture controls, ensuring the switches and fixtures correspond properly. If issues arise, disconnect the power before investigating and resolving the problem.
3. Ground protection and safety measures:
1. Ground protection should adopt the TT method. An enclosed ring-type artificial grounding device should be set around the outdoor lighting box, using 50*50*5L2500 hot-dip galvanized angle steel for grounding rods. The connection wire should be 40*4 hot-dip galvanized flat steel, with grounding rod spacing of 5m and a burial depth of 0.8m, ensuring the ground resistance does not exceed 10 ohms.
2. All fixture grounding terminals within the system should be reliably interconnected using PE wires, connected to the lighting box PE bus bar.
3. To prevent overvoltage from lightning strikes, surge protectors should be installed in the outdoor lighting box.
