Many merchants, when choosing solar street lights, not only search online for information about solar street light manufacturers, but are also concerned about the prices of solar street lights. Currently, the complete price of solar street lights in the market varies greatly based on configuration, generally ranging from 2500 to 10000.
As the solar street light market becomes more refined, many manufacturers have continually improved their technology, leading to increasingly fierce market competition. To retain customers, many suppliers choose to compete on price. The price of solar street lights is closely related to their configuration. Reducing the supply price of solar street lights inevitably means lowering costs by compromising on components: reducing the power of solar panels, which results in insufficient electricity generation and causes the solar street lights to malfunction; they also reduce battery capacity to cut costs, seeking undue profits; and although the light source is relatively inexpensive among all the components, it has a high failure rate.
Thus, when merchants purchase solar street lights, they must pay close attention to products with lower prices.
Regarding the prices of our solar street lights, our sales staff often report a common issue: some clients say our prices are higher than others, while others claim our prices are lower. As a genuine solar panel manufacturer, we can clearly explain the reasons:
1. For solar panels above 40W, those priced above 5 yuan per watt are mostly dealer prices. Dealers wholesale panels from manufacturers, and in many regions, due to transportation and information barriers, are unaware of market conditions, so they source panels locally at higher prices. With multiple layers of markups, the price often skyrockets by the time it reaches the end user. Thus, the costs associated with using photovoltaic technology become significantly elevated, which in turn constrains the development of the photovoltaic industry to some extent.
2. The price of solar panels is mainly determined by the cost of solar cells. A reputable manufacturer using Grade A or A+ solar cells calculates costs accordingly, adding appropriate profit margins, resulting in solar panel prices within a reasonable range of 3.8 to 4.5 yuan (with monocrystalline panels being slightly more expensive).
3. If the price is below 3 yuan, it can generally be assumed that the product is of inferior quality. The pricing of solar cells is quite apparent, much like oil prices, and market conditions are transparent. Solar panels priced under 3 yuan are not profitable and may even lead to losses if mismanaged. However, the market is flooded with low-priced panels; how did this happen? The raw material for solar panels is solar cells, which come in different grades. Panels with absurdly low prices are typically made from low-efficiency or ineffective cells, which appear similar to high-quality panels but fail to generate adequate electricity. Many reported issues with photovoltaic products stem from this. Some manufacturers, seeking profit, heavily use inferior or ineffective cells, enticing consumers with low prices. Therefore, consumers must carefully discern whether a manufacturer is legitimate and whether the products truly meet their claimed power ratings when choosing solar panels.
Thus, when buying solar street lights, do not simply chase low prices. Instead, gain more insight into the product’s configuration, the manufacturer’s credibility, and factors such as pre-sales and after-sales service quality.
