If it is a regularly used LED solar garden light and it has stopped working after some time, first check the control box’s indicator lights. If both lights are off, the controller may be damaged due to a strong electrical surge, such as from a lightning strike or short circuit.
Next, if the controller’s indicator shows normal discharge at night and the battery has sufficient voltage, but the solar garden light still does not illuminate, connect the light’s positive and negative terminals directly to the battery for testing. If it still does not work, the light’s driver or rectifier may be damaged.
If the controller indicates a low voltage state and does not light up after dark, but the battery voltage exceeds the low voltage threshold, the battery appears to be charged. In a 24V system, the low voltage protection threshold is typically around 22.2V. Once the battery voltage drops to this point, the controller turns off the power and stops discharging to protect the battery from being over-discharged.
The solar panel will charge the battery during the day, bringing its voltage up to 24V before it continues to discharge, primarily to prevent damage from prolonged deep discharges. If the battery has been under-voltage, the solar LED garden light will remain in a low voltage state until the controller is restarted. The voltage must be charged back to 24V or higher to resume discharging.
