Many times when ordering a batch of
yard lights, after returning to the community, one may not understand how to install them or how to verify if the installation is correct. Below, I will provide a detailed explanation on how to install these yard lights, so that you can fully understand.
1) It is advisable to use low-power, high-color-rendering sodium lamps, metal halide lamps, high-pressure mercury lamps, and incandescent bulbs for the light source of yard lights. The insulation resistance value between the conductive parts of each lamp set and the ground should be greater than 2MΩ. Yard lights should be installed vertically, and pole-style streetlights, floor-mounted streetlights, and special horticultural lights should be securely fixed to the foundation, with all necessary fixing bolts in place. Each lamp set should have a complete fuse in the fuse box that matches the lamps. The waterproof sealing gasket of the junction box or fuse box should be installed properly. Streetlights on overhead lines should have the correct positions, be securely fixed, and have all fasteners tightened. Each lamp set should be equipped with fuse protection. When yard lights and pole-mounted streetlights are equipped with devices that automatically turn on or off based on natural light brightness, adjustments should be made, and the automatic power control device of the lamps should operate accurately.
2) Strict attention should be paid to the grounding of yard lights. Metal poles and fixtures should reliably connect to bare conductors with the PEN line. The grounding wire should be independently laid, forming a mesh network layout along the yard lights, and should connect to the grounding device with no less than 2 points. The grounding main line should lead out branch lines connecting to the grounding terminals of metal lamp poles and fixtures, with clear markings. The grounding branch lines of the fixtures must not be connected in series to prevent individual fixtures from shifting or being replaced, causing other fixtures to lose grounding protection.
3) After installation is completed and the insulation tests are passed, the lamps should undergo trial operation with power turned on. After powering on, carefully check and inspect, ensuring the control of the lamps is flexible and accurate; the control sequence of switches and lamps corresponds. If any issues are found, power should be immediately turned off to identify and rectify the cause.
